All electronic gadgets belonging to Anyidoho to be seized – Court
An Accra High Court has given the Ghana Police Service the green light to seize all electronic gadgets of Koku Anyidoho Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in relation to a treason charged levelled against him.
The electronic gadgets believed to be used in storing of information relating to the charges include laptop, iphone and iPad. The gadgets are to aid the Police in their investigations.
The order came after the Police had gone to court to seek an order to issue warrant to search and make seizure at the Anyidoho’s premises pursuant to section 88 of the Criminal and other offences (procedure) Act 1960 and Act 30 as amended order for search and use of electronic Information.
The court presided over by Mrs Patience Mills-Tetteh obliged the Police in an ex-parte application which gives the Police the permit to also search and seize devices of “agents” of Anyidoho.
The police had prior to the order searched Anyidoho’s premises at Oyarifa after he was picked up last Tuesday.
The Deputy NDC General Secretary was picked up following comments on an Accra based radio station suggesting that there would be a “Civil revolt and Civil coup d’état’ in the country.
The Police arrested him up on Tuesday at the Ghana International Press Centre.
