Jewelry Brand Bee Goddess Debuts in the US

Bee Goddess, a fine jewelry brand based in Istanbul that’s had a successful run in a handful of Europe’s top department stores, has officially landed stateside.

The 11-year-old collection recently opened its fifth stand-alone boutique—and first-ever U.S. store—on bustling shopping row Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, Fla.

In recent months, the brand has also debuted in two trendsetting Los Angeles retail stores: Maxfield and the Martyn Lawrence Bullard atelier.

Bee Goddess was founded by designer Ece Sirin, and the store’s retail footprint has kept pace with its popularity in Europe and Asia. It’s talismanic pieces have found die-hard fans through its then-four branded stores and tony retail partners, which include iconic department stores Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and Joyce in Hong Kong.

Sirin came to jewelry design following a career at two megacorporations, Microsoft and Coca-Cola. According to company literature, her desire to lead a more grounded lifestyle led her to intensely research mythology, alchemy, goddess philosophy, and sacred geometry.

That deep dive led the designer to launch Bee Goddess in 2007 with styles that featured 12 mythological motifs borrowed directly from ancient civilizations.

The collection’s inspirations are very woo-woo, but in a cool way (no surprise that L.A. retailers have picked it up—self-help and/or mythology tie-ins are like catnip to West Los Angeles’ affluent jewelry fans).

“Every Bee Goddess piece explores the rise of the sacred feminine heroine, with each bracelet, ring, necklace, and accessory connecting the wearer to a light-and-joy-filled life of wellness, wholeness, creativity, and healing,” said Sirin in a statement. “Talismanic symbols are a compass for the inward journey toward our divine essence. They carry clues to our inner forces as expressions of psychological powers within, such as love, abundance, courage, and creativity.”

The brand currently has 16 collections, featuring 62 different symbols and more than 2,500 individual designs, including several limited-edition pieces. Each look falls under one of three umbrella themes: Awakening, Enlightenment, and Connection.

Pieces from the collection, which range in price from $1,500 to $35,000, have been worn by celebs including Kate Moss, Madonna, Beyoncé, Rita Ora, Naomie Harris, Cara Delevingne, and Rihanna.
