Danilo ups presence at Nuremberg Toy Fair
Danilo is gearing up for a strong showing at this week’s Nuremberg Toy Fair, having increased its stand space in order to showcase some of its hottest properties.
The greeting cards and calendar licensee exhibited for the first time at Spielwarenmesse in 2017 – with it meeting “some great new customers and forging some strong new relationships” according to sales director, Brett Smith.
Brett continued: “A key part of Danilo’s growth going forward will be through sales outside of our heartland in the UK where we have near enough 100% retail distribution, so building relationships with overseas customers and distributors is now a key objective for the business.
“Nuremberg is one of the biggest trade shows for toys and consumer products in the world and attracts retailers, distributors, licensees and licensors all of whom we are building relationships with during the show.”
Danilo’s stand at the show will feature brands including Jurassic World 2, Minecraft, Star Wars, Marvel, the Avengers, Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns and Incredibles 2.
In addition, core licences such as The Beatles, Elvis, Despicable Me, My Little Pony, PAW Patrol, Manchester United and Liverpool FC among others will also be showcased.
The company will also be launching some new formats in 2018 to complement its existing ranges across calendars, diaries, greeting cards, gift wrap and bags.
Dan Grant, licensing director, said: “Within our extensive licensed portfolio, Danilo has a number of multi-territory agreements, particularly in the music, entertainment and sports arena.
“With the likes of the Premiership football teams, music artists like Elvis, Little Mix, Justin Bieber and movie franchises like Despicable Me having global appeal, we are in a position to develop and supply across the world and so being present at international trade shows lets people know about our products and capabilities as a business.”
Dan continued: “At the same time, there is a high level of UK retailers and licensors attending the show, so it makes sense to attract these people with our new range launches as well.”
