Ebay has launched its first Australian catalog that will be distributed as a physical paper product and as an online version.
The catalog was produced by the internal design and creativity team of Ebay Australia.
The paper catalog was created to highlight the 40,000 retailers of the company and to demonstrate to consumers that, contrary to popular belief, 90% of the products on Ebay are new.
The digital version will be launched on May 21 and consumers will be able to buy their favorite products directly from the catalog.
Julie Nestor, director of marketing at Ebay Australia, said in a statement: “We are adopting a similar strategy that many traditional brick and mortar retailers have, by having both physical and online presence.
“We wanted to find a way to showcase our fantastic range of products. We know that retail catalogs have long been the way Australian buyers prefer to browse and buy the best deals.
“We are very excited to gather online shopping and physical worlds.”
Ebay seller Aaron Huang of Mobileciti said: “We are delighted to be part of eBay’s first catalog.” A physical channel is an excellent way for us to get in touch with buyers and show how strong our technology offer is. “
