It’s a promising market: Unilever invests in Egyptian production
Unilever is investing heavily in its Egyptian production lines, according to a report published by Daily News Egypt.
The Managing Director of the Dutch FMCG giant, Ashraf Bakry told Daily News that Unilever has struck deals with three international suppliers in a bid to up domestic production. Bakry declined to disclose further details but added that ‘Egypt has become a promising market’.
Unilever has upped exports from its Egypt base by 90 percent in the last three years, according to Bakry and has plans to extend its reach to Europe, the US, Canada and Russia as well as continuing to serve the Gulf and African markets.
