These Are the Spring 2018 Street Style Trends to Take With You to Coachella
It’s that time of year again, when the swarms of lace crop top–and–bootie–wearing PYTs stampede the stages of Coachella, swigging rosé and Bloody Marys and fighting to get a shot of Beyoncé or Hailey Baldwin for their Insta story. It’s also a full-on fashion show. Music-loving girls and boys get decked out for the weekend rager in the California desert by cherry-picking some of the coolest trends straight from the runways (those aforementioned boho babes, not so much).
This year however, the most apropos looks aren’t ones with designer labels attached, but rather those spotted on the models, influencers, celebrities, and editors outside the Spring 2018 shows. At Coachella 2018, look out for newsboy caps like the one worn by Kaia Gerber post-catwalk. And in place of the bra tops we’ve seen in years past, there’s bound to be gals trying out the no-pants jacket and tee option. Bright orange will also stand out among those flower-print frocks, just as it did during fashion month. As for everybody’s beloved ripped jean shorts? Thanks to the street style crew, they’ve been upgraded with crafty lacing up the sides. Last but not least, sunglasses, which used to abide by the bigger, the better rule, are now all about tiny and totally weird shapes.
