MediaMarkt has begun selling certain products on eBay in an effort to reach a wider customer base.
Electronic retailers will sell more than 10,000 products through the online market. This range will include items that are more than 12 months old or have been displayed in 87 of their stores.
Customers can buy goods at a fixed price rather than having to bid on an eBay auction. They can send it to their address or retrieve it from the store in question.
MediaMarkt Iberia is working with eBay to sell some of its products on the ‘e-commerce’ platform.
Samuel Debeaupte, regional director at MediaMarkt Iberia, said the company was “no stranger to new consumer needs.”
He added: “Purchasing habits have changed and it makes us work every day to adapt to the preferences of our customers. For markets like Spain, collaborating with eBay is an exciting challenge, we have the maximum assurance that our partners offer us. ”
MediaMarktSaturn has had similar collaborations with eBay in Germany since 2012. It offers more than 93,000 items.
Wolfgang Kirsch, CEO of a company in Germany, said: “eBay is a very attractive additional distribution channel, where we can make our extensive online product range available to more than 16 million potential customers in Germany.
“With eBay web stores from Media Markt and Saturn, we offer eBay buyers a broader range of electronic products. So with this collaboration, we bring together a large demand and supply.”
